This can't be true. I use Am more than any other chord. Em and E also more than F for example... Is it just me...?

If you are trying to learn alone, find some easy song you like and play. When you learn, play other song you like. Just use google to find chords and tabs, and maybe youtube for some tutorials.

[...] A metronome can teach to make a solid tempo which leads to a solid groove. If you have been paying b...is no groove there is nothing. Just listen to Buddy guy's CD The Real Deal, and see how all the tunes develop energy. Many things are part of this but they all lay down on top of a righteous groove on each and every song. Much of the groove is produced by the way the rhythm treats the beat. The bass player may be a millisecond ahead of the beat with the drummer slightly behind to balance things out, or they may both be right on top of it with the lead guitarist, vocalist, or other soloist playing all around it. When you get into the finer tweaks, the only thing to do is feel it. The major part of creating a solid groove however is tempo. If the piece isn't moving at the right speed for the feel, you have nothing. It's really important to play the music at the correct tempo every time. Don't guess about this, don't feel it, know what you are doing here. Here is a tool to help you remember the tempos of the various material you will be working with. An inconsequential investment but a huge return. [...]
